Steptamber!

What is steptember?

Run by Cerebral Palsy Alliance, Steptember is taking on the challenge to do 10,000 steps a day for the month of september to raise incredibly important funds to support people living with cerebral palsy (CP) right across Australia. Let’s face it. Taking 10,000 steps a day for 28 days straight is one heck of a commitment! But every step will be made easier because you’ll know that it’s all for a very worthy cause. Every dollar you raise during Steptember allows Cerebral Palsy Alliance to provide much-needed services, support, and care for so many kids and adults living with cerebral palsy and their families.

About the Cause

Cerebral Palsy is a physical disability that affects movement and posture. It is a permanent life-long condition, but generally does not worsen over time. It is due to damage to the developing brain either during pregnancy or shortly after birth. Cerebral palsy affects people in different ways and can affect body movement, muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance. Did you know, Cerebral Palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood? One in two people with cerebral palsy are in chronic pain due to the tightening of their muscles. Many will never be able to take a single step without assistance. Every 15 hours, an Australian child is born with cerebral palsy.

How you can Help!

We have a team at Active Rehab taking on the challenge to do 10,000 steps a day and raise money to help this very important cause. The average office worker only takes around 3,000 steps per day, so 10,000 steps a day is quite the challenge for us. Please show your care and support for those living with CP and their families. Any amount you contribute would make a huge difference to children and adults living with cerebral palsy and of course reward us for completing our 10,000 steps per day! Help us help people ”Live Life” to their fullest…..you can donate to any of our team members on the links below. Or search our team Active Rehab on the steptamber website. You’ll receive an automated receipt as every donation over $2 is tax deductible.
